Inconsistency of lack of imagination on our parts? )

Also, please feel free to see my other theories/thoughts here, which are more fully thought out than this one.

So, I did go and see the new film in the end (thanks to those who commented on my last post in favour of it!); and then I went and saw it a second time. And I hope to make my boyfriend go and see it with me when I visit on Sunday (with a pint of Sherlock at The Sherlock Holmes pub in Trafalgar Square afterwards, perhaps?). Ha!

I won't go into it because we've had plenty of reviews on here, but I just want to say that although I don't consider Downey Jr. to be the Holmes (Brett has that honour), I will accept that he is a Holmes. Jude Law, however? BEST WATSON EVER. :3

There's just one question I have, and I hoped you good folks might be able to furnish me with an answer. Does anyone know why Holmes' drug abuse was swapped for alcoholism? Was it simply to keep the age certificate below a 15 (or ... whatever the equivalent is in America)? Only, the Granada series features Holmes' use of cocaine quite a lot, and that gets played on ITV3 daytime!

May all the good decent people in this community and in all our lives have a happy new year. And for those good souls that think 2010 won't be so good, if it seems unlikely to be happy, may there be much love and courage to have future happiness.

I hope less British and American soldiers die (in the wars) in 2010. Let us all wish, hope or pray (depending on your faith or lack of) for that to be so. And the people of Iran who want their freedom, I hope they carry on their fight, and form a more liberal society in Iran in time.

I just want to thank all my true friends for their understanding, love, courage, and respect throughout 2009. And thank you dear people of my friends list.

I also want to thank all the lovely people who have continued to support my Jeremy Brett You Tube Channel, and have sent me the most beautiful messages, and left the most lovely comments on my videos in 2009. Sometimes it has made me smile on dark days, when I have been sent lovely messages, knowing I've made someone else smile.

And, thank you Jeremy... *wants to hug you*

:-)

PEACE

Going through all the sticky notes on my desktop, I re-found a quote that I had noted from "The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith." It seems to bring new relevance now...

I know everyone is upset with David Tennant leaving Doctor Who but am I the only one excited to see what he'll do Post Doctor Who? I just watched "Nan's Christmas Carol" with Catherine Tate and I laughed so hard at David's comedic talent. I personally can't wait to see what else the man does. What do you think?

I mean, yes, The End of Time, Part Two is David Tennant's swansong.

But it's also the moment we - presumably - get our first, brief, tantalising glimpse of Matt Smith as the Doctor. Whether he's just lying on the floor (a la Pertwee - Baker or most of the other classic series regenerations), or we get a "new teeth - that's weird" moment, or something a bit more, I'm kind of excited for that as much as for anything that's going to be in the actual episode.

But...do you reckon we'll get a trailer for the Smith & Moffat series right after EoT2? Do you reckon we should? There's very little info out there for the forthcoming series (unusually, considering we normally knew the writers for the Davies series about 11 months ahead of transmission, with episode titles being released gradually throughout the year leading up to broadcast); whether this is because Moffat has decided to leave all the publicity to Davies & Tennant this year, or whether he's generally more inclined to keep such information closer to his chest, who knows? But, anyway - do you reckon we ought to get some sort of trailer straight after EoT2, or should it maybe be kept back a bit?
